Clear Aligner therapy is the process in which patients wear an invisibly thin series of clear plastic aligners to shift their teeth into proper alignment gradually. With modern advancements in technology, the process has become faster and more convenient than ever. Dentist Gladesville say that the average treatment time for a complete set of trays is around 1.5 to 2 years.
Of course, Clear Aligner therapy is an option, not a requirement for all patients. Many people who need orthodontic treatment can be treated with lingual braces, traditional metal braces or even removable dentures and partials. However, if you prefer the invisibility of clear aligners over other orthodontic treatment methods, you will make the most of your appearance by choosing this method.
However, before you can decide which method of orthodontic treatment is suitable for you, it’s essential to receive a proper diagnosis from your dentist. Not every patient is a candidate for clear aligners, so be sure that a qualified dentist evaluates you for this type of treatment.
Clear Aligner is an invisible, removable and comfortable alternative to conventional metal braces. Clear Aligner’s patented self-ligating technology allows for increased comfort and better oral hygiene over traditional metal braces and other removable appliances (including Hawley retainers). However, Clear Aligner is available in a variety of colours and aesthetics and can be customized for optimal results. Clear Aligner is the only self-ligating transparent aligner system on the market today.

How do clear aligners work?
Clear Aligner’s design allows for an easier and more efficient way to straighten teeth than traditional braces or other types of orthodontic devices. In addition, Clear Aligner’s patented self-ligating technology reduces friction between the aligners, allowing teeth to move more comfortably and in a shorter time than traditional braces. The reduced friction also means that Clear Aligner is easier to clean, reducing your risk for cavities and gum disease.
Unlike traditional metal braces, Clear Aligner is removable for eating, drinking and cleaning your teeth. That means you can show off your beautiful smile all the time—no more hiding away at buffets or avoiding cameras! Plus, because Clear Aligner’s are clear, no one will suspect that you are wearing orthodontic devices.
With clear aligners, you can enjoy an improved smile, better oral hygiene and comfort that is unlike any other type of orthodontic treatment. In addition, you will have a great time straightening your teeth with Clear Aligner’s self-ligating technology!
How do I wear my aligners?
Clear Aligners are placed one at a time, with no wires or brackets to adjust. Each tray is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next tray in the series.
General instructions apply to all trays:
- Keep your teeth clean while wearing Clear Aligners
- Do not bite down on hard objects
- Brush your teeth twice a day.
However, there are also some recommendations for customizing Clear Aligner therapy to fit the needs of each patient:
1) Start with Trays 1 and 2 daily for two weeks each, then add Tray 3 and progress through all six trays in order
2) Or begin using Trays 1 and 2 for two weeks, then progress to Trays 4 and 5; finally, add Tray 6 and wear them daily as directed
3) Or use all six trays as directed (recommended for those with a deep overbite or other complex needs).
How long does it take to see results?
Your orthodontist will provide you with a treatment plan to determine your approximate treatment time. Some factors to consider are how much tooth movement is required if any underlying issues need to be addressed and patient compliance with wearing the aligners. We recommend you wear your aligners 23 hours per day for the first four weeks of therapy.
How much does clear aligner therapy cost?
Treatment time may vary, but Clear Aligner orthodontic treatment typically takes about nine months. Your orthodontist can provide you with an estimate based on your individual needs and comfort level.
Will I have to wear my clear aligners for the rest of my life?
No—your orthodontist will determine when it is time to stop wearing your aligners.
How will I know the treatment is over?
Your orthodontist will determine when you are finished with clear aligner treatment—it may be based on a specific amount of time, a certain number of trays, or a combination of factors.
